The project redesigns the space of beach resort no. 40 in Sottomarina by replacing the old, deteriorated structures with new, contemporary and functional architecture. The complex combines the kiosk-bar, food preparation area, and restrooms in a single, single-story volume, punctuated by a play of heights that reflects the internal functional organization. On the east side, a large covered platform becomes the hub of social interaction, protected by sliding sunshades that allow the space to be fully opened up to the sea. The building is designed with a strong focus on sustainability and landscape integration, using sustainable dry-stone structures and cladding, a photovoltaic system, and solar collectors for hot water.
