Casa negli orti currently reveals its history and its location, the area around is dedicated to the cultivation of vegetables and gives it a character that the current building mantain in all its charm and it’s a memory of life that has been in the past. The historic building is characterized by a rectangular building that develops on the ground floor and an agricultural annex leaning on the east side. The plant is small in size for the necessity of the new client, so it follows the necessity to expand it through a recovery action. We decided not to demolish the building, but add and integrate parts in order not to change the connection with the agricultural landscape. The project involves the construction of a simple volume that penetrates the existing factory on the northern front, made with materials and construction techniques typical of our contemporary age. It is a talking architecture that makes us understand the will to recognize those parts that have been added today.
